Kathryn Bowman, EA, President

Kathryn Bowman, EA has been preparing individual and business returns for over 38 years.  She works for Beacon Tax Services, a division of The Life Financial Group, in Reading, PA.  She previously owned two H&R Block franchises, selling one in ’93 and the second in ’06.  She is currently a Board Member of the PA Chapter of NATP serving as President and previously having served as Secretary, Treasurer, 1st Vice President and President as well as being a National Board Member of NATP.  She passed Level I of NTPI and received her state teaching certification from NATP.  She has taught various tax classes over the last 30 years and earned many awards and recognitions in the tax profession including the IRS Exemplary ERO award.

Patti Blum, Vice President

Patti received her degree in Accounting from Clarion State University. She worked in various accounting departments of local industries and in 1979 she began working for International Petroleum Service Company, an affiliate of UGI Corporation. She began working in the tax industry in 1985 serving as Manager & Educational Director for a major tax franchise chain for 10 years. Patti specializes in self-employed returns for the Logging, Oil and Gas, and Trucking industries. She also instructs small businesses in record keeping and bookkeeping practices. Patti joined the PA-NATP Board of Directors in October 2001. She served many roles including Membership Chairman, 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President and also President. In 2010 she completed her Certificate as an instructor and was awarded the PA-NATP Award of Excellence. Over the years Patti has been a dedicated volunteer serving 7 years as PTA President, Civic Association Secretary, and serving over 15 years as Chairman of the Local Boy Scouts of America Troop. She is also a very active member of the Sheffield United Methodist Church Council where she currently serves as the Finance Chairperson.

Susan Bure, Treasurer

Susan Ellen Bure has been married for 44 years to James S. Bure. Susan and her husband have 3 grown and married children, 1 deceased daughter and 4 wonderful grandsons.She graduated in 1969 from Kittanning Senior High School in the top 1/3 of her class with a concentration in business.  In 1993, she graduated, magna cum laude, from Butler Community College, with an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Accounting and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and on the President’s Achievement List.Sue has owned and operated her accounting and tax firm, Accounting by Sue, for 28 years plus has worked for various businesses as a controller, accountant, accounts payable clerk and financial coordinator. Sue has been a member of the Kittanning Church of God for 52 years.

Joyce Jones, EA, Secretary

Joyce has been a member of NATP since 1994, specializing in Schedule F returns. She has been raising White Galloway cattle for 21 years. She is an avid volunteer in her community. Joyce and has been Secretary/Treasurer for the American Galloway Breeders’ Association for 18 years and has been involved in 4-H for over 17 years.

Troy M. Clawson

Troy M. Clawson graduated cum laude from Edinboro University with a B.S. in Forensic Accounting. He then went on to start his own tax and accounting business, The TMC Tax Experience, LLC. Troy is also on Youngsville Borough Council as well as the local planning commission. Troy will become president of the Warren County Visitors Bureau Board of Directors starting in 2016. He is also the Finance Vice Chair for the Brokenstraw Valley Fund, a local endowment fund. When Troy isn’t serving his community through local government or other local boards he enjoys sports, politics, and spending time with his wonderful wife Wendy and their 2 cats. He also encourages supporting local small businesses.

Charles Evans Jr.

Chuck graduated from Pennsylvania Military College and Lancaster Theological Seminary. He served 30 years in the United Methodist Church dealing with personal and religious taxation. Chuck took an early retirement and became a Block Office manager for 10 years before opening his own office, which he has done for the past 7 years.  Chuck has volunteered on the board of PA-NATP for 8 years, gaining many insights from the state and national conventions, along with many local workshops and the committee for the Working Together With the IRS, in Pennsylvania.

David Fleming, EA – Education Chair

In 1997, Dave started his tax career by accepting a position as an Account Supervisor with PA Farm Bureau’s MSC Business Services serving clients in Clarion and Northern Armstrong Counties, Mercer, and Venango. In 1999, Dave passed the Enrolled Agents Examination to practice before the IRS.  Dave also served as a regional manager with MSC Business Services from September 1999 through September 22, 2015.  Dave continues to work as an Account Supervisor with MSC Business Services.Dave joined NATP in 2002 and served as Director of PA Chapter of NATP from 2005-2014. He also is currently on the Board of Directors for Salem Cemetery (since 2002), and as Treasurer of the same since 2009.  He has served on the Board of Directors of Clarion Federal Credit Union since 2012.Dave still owns a farm in Clarion County where he raises beef cattle and hay.  He assures us that accounting and tax preparation is more profitable than the cattle business.Dave and his wife, Cindy, have 2 adult children, one of whom is a CPA, and 4 grandchildren. They are active in their church and enjoy motorcycling and their grandchildren.


Walter W. Moyer

Walter “Wally” Moyer has over 30 years’ experience in tax, accounting, mortgages, and financial consulting for individuals and small businesses.  It has always been his pledge to provide excellent, personalized services for every single client. A business graduate of LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Wally has owned and operated his own tax accounting firm since 1987.  In addition to his tax practice he enjoys running a small bed and breakfast with his wife in their historic home in the Germantown section of Philadelphia which now also hosts his tax office.       


Tina Pittman

Tina Pittman is a founding member of Your Accountant, LLC.  The firm and specializes in tax and business consulting services for the Healthcare professionals, Manufacturing, Construction, Rentals and Service industries. She is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and received her designation as a Certified Global Management Accountant in 2013 from American Institute of CPAs. Tina is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), and the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP). Tina received her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with concentration in accounting from Shippensburg University. She also holds a Masters degree in Business Administration concentration in Finance. Tina is the author of  Straight Talk About Small Business Success in Pennsylvania which was release in 2016. Tina has more than 30 years experience in payroll processing, tax preparation and accounting. She started her career in manufacturing industry while maintaining a clientele base part time. Prior to receiving initial CPA credentials, she spent several years in public accounting with a small regional firm, gaining exposure to the tax and accounting needs of many industries.  While some of her experiences were with large sized companies with over 2K employees, her passion is small to medium sized companies. She has spent over 13 years in management roles stemming from Accounting Manager to Controller. Tina believes in serving the community. As a former Board Member for Chambersburg Boys & Girls Club, former Treasurer for a local church, and former member of Rotary, she plans to continue to give back to the community. There is great satisfaction to see others smile because of what a person has done. It is others who teach us how to live our life to the fullest. In her free time, Tina enjoys baking, family gatherings and reading. A top priority for Tina is learning which doesn’t always mean book smart learning.

Mary Jane Stump, AFSP

Mary Jane Stump, AFSP, is an accountant and tax preparer.  She prepares taxes for individuals and small businesses as well doing payroll and bookkeeping. Mary Jane is the sole proprietor of Stump & Associates, established in 1983.  Mary Jane joined NATP seven years ago and has been a member of the Chapter Board of Directors for the past year.  She participated in numerous training classes over the years and attended the National Convention in 2012.  She lives with her husband in Kutztown, PA.

Holly Whiteside, EA

Holly Whiteside, EA has been a tax preparer since the 1980’s first working for H&R Block and then later at Jackson Hewitt managing one of their offices in Maryland.  She decided about five years ago to start her own office in order to have more flexibility with her schedule.  She joined the IRS Exam Study Group on Facebook and was encouraged enough to complete the tests and become an EA in 2015. Holly has been a member of the NATP since 2012 and joined the NAEA in 2015. Holly has a BS degree in Human Resources Management.  Her full time job is supervising a program that works with children who have developmental delays.  Holly has two daughters and one granddaughter who is the light of her life.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her daughters and granddaughter, crafting, reading, walks or runs several miles a week (she just finished her first 10k), and loves browsing antique stores and spending time at the beach.  She also enjoys travelling and has been to Ireland, France, Spain, Italy and Monaco.

Walter Douglass, AFSP

Walter Douglass, AFSP, received his Associates of Science Degree in Business Administration from Montgomery County Community College in 2008. From there he moved on to Temple University where, thru one and two classes at a time, he earned Bachelors of Business Administration from Temple University 2016.  Walter started his own business of tax preparation in 2009. His areas of expertise are transportation, education, warehouse workers, mechanics, real estate rentals/vacation homes, sole proprietorship, and small businesses.  On a personal level, Walter is married to Karen for over twenty-five years. They have raised three wonderful children. Together, Walter and Karen enjoy traveling and bicycling. He is a retired member of the Teamsters Union and a member of the Boy Scouts of America earning the rank of Eagle Scout.

Andrea Basalyga-Phillips EA

Andrea Basalyga-Phillips EA graduated from the University of Scranton with her BS in Accounting.  She prepared taxes on a part-time basis while a controller for a Convenience Store Franchise. In 2004 she left her position to pursue her passion of preparing taxes fulltime becoming an Enrolled agent in 2005. Along with taxes she also does accounting and payroll services.  She has been a member of NATP since 2003. In the off season her husband and her have a Marina/RV park in the Finger Lakes. The perfect way to relax after a stressful tax season!
